Interview with Charlie Shoe How Charlie met Vernon Music Cuitars Contact
Charlie's Guitars

The marked tree fell in the river but they dug it up and you can look at it. They say Indians marked the tree before John Murrell did. He wasn’t a real preacher, they just called him that. When I was a kid I played outlaw all by myself. I didn’t play much after I got the guitar. I played the guitar though, that was why.
Q:
You know a lot about history it sounds like.
A: Only from around here mostly. Daddy takes me to West Memphis to read the papers on microfiche. He’d leave me there all day. I’d never tell him I read the ads too. He’d think I wasn’t serious. There was a history column for years. I read books too. I like to read books about music though. That’s because I play the guitars. Everything has a song. If you learn the song right you’ll know the reason for the song. That’s how I fix the engines, I listen to them sing.
Q: Do you still live with your parents?
A: I live with my folks house. I play guitar and work on engines in  the shed out back. I can play the guitars in the middle of the night and nobody gets upset. They get upset when I start an engine to play a duet though. There’s a song in everything.
